The Jewish tradition of berakhot (blessing) is often celebrated around the table, as the Creator of all is blessed for the food about to be eaten. In the Catholic liturgical tradition, this blessing has been adopted as part of the Preparation of the Gifts. "Blessed Are You, Lord" expands beyond the bread and wine and expresses thanksgiving for the gifts, talents and presence of those gathered together in celebration.

Here's "Blessed Are You, Lord" used as the soundtrack for a slideshow created by the Magis program at Creighton University. Hear the whole song, and see some wonderful student leaders in their ministry!
